“Why We Love Hollywood”) – Healing and Hope

Published

on

When I was a child, (let’s pretend it was in the 1950’s), in order to see a good movie, we had to go to the Movie Theater. I remember getting dressed and paying at the outside window for a ticket, and the smell of popcorn in the air!

Nowadays, it doesn’t take a lot to see a “good” movie. All I need is my phone! The technology for streaming entertainment allows me to watch a movie while I’m in line at the grocery store, or the mall, or waiting to see the doctor or dentist, or when commuting on public transit, almost anywhere, anytime I have a battery-charged device! How cool…the ability to escape no matter where I, physically, may be!

And just imagine what a BIG SCREEN will do to my mind…with surround sound…high definition color…and suddenly,

…while sitting in 90-degree weather in my living-room, I find ‘myself’ with a strong man, who is climbing a snow-covered mountain in Montana! Or, I love the feeling of skate-boarding on the snow & ice, with a couple who are half my age, and flying down the slopes!  But, for sure I’m also a fan of surfing the waves off the coast of sunny California, although … if I look outside my living-room window, it’s actually raining and very cold & windy.

This is the magic of video!

Movies have the ability to transport us from one place to another in seconds, depending on our “Internet speed!”

Remember, what you consider a “good movie,” may be the wrong choice for someone else.

But whatever your choice, enjoy what you love, get into it, and forget about your troubles for an hour or two!

No wonder, the term “movie” is searched for more than health or healing.

Watch free movies online…

Do you like Classics or Trending?

This is a search that keeps on giving! Find a movie you like!

Next, the final installment of this series on “how to manage stress and maintain a freed, uplifted spirit with simple, everyday escapism“, we’ll touch on what it means to be free.

Until then…

Crystals & Journaling – Sentimental Gems

Published

on

To learn to write with crystals check out: Writing Using Crystals

Journaling generally involves the practice of keeping a journal that explores thoughts and feelings surrounding the chapters of your life. Journaling is also an excellent method to manage stress and connecting with your true self. It is key to have a true relationship with self to know balance. Appreciating yourself helps you appreciate your life. When you hold yourself in high esteem and know you are fulfilling your purpose in life, you tend to have more enjoyment and a more positive attitude toward the future. I also learned from this practice it puts you in a happier state of mind.

Keeping a journal can help you fully explore your emotions, release tension, and fully integrate your experiences into your mind

Here are a few exercises to explore next time you journal:

Speak Your Truth Exercise

The best way to speak and share your truth with others is to practice with yourself first. Give yourself 20-30 minutes, grab a pen, a piece of paper, and the first crystal you are drawn to. The best time to do this exercise is in the morning. Hold a chosen crystal or stone of choice in one hand and empty the mind, then start to write the first words that come to your head, do not stop and think about the words….just write.

Don’t think, don’t critique—just write, tap into your stream of consciousness.

Write all the thoughts out, now tear the paper up. Don’t save it – this is not a journal exercise. This is a realizing practice, being honest, and getting your thoughts out without hesitating or holding back. The crystal will help you tap into the vibration you are needing to steady.

This exercise will help to clear the mind of things you just needed to put out there. It can help to cleanse you so that you can approach the rest of the day from a more elevated, clear and calm state of expression, this practice will help to open you up to be able to speak your truth.

Letter From Future Self

Write a letter to yourself in the present time from your future self, as though possessing the intentions you are putting out now are come true in the future. The key to manifesting is: see it, feel it, and own it as though it has already happened. You can offer advice, compassion, explanation, forgiveness, or praise. Or you can merely recount an experience you had and how it impacted you like your adult self now. Try to see this in the future as though you are looking back at your younger self as a real and separate person when you write the letter.

Again, try not to overthink this exercise. Spend a few minutes deciding the core message of the letter, and then start writing without filters.

Interview Yourself

Ask yourself three questions to stimulate creative thought, write these questions yourself. You want to answer the questions as quickly as you can, time does not exist for the higher self, as soon as you start to put thought into the process you lose connection. And do not worry, it does take practice to do this, so practice daily and it will get easier. Write the first thing that comes to mind, even it is whatever ideas pop into your mind. Write as much or as little as you wish, but allow the words to flow without pondering too much.

Journalling Using Crystals

When choosing a crystal to journal with, your intuition will lead you in the right direction. Trust your higher self, you will be drawn toward crystals that will help you manifest what you truly need. We’re drawn toward crystals that contain the energy we’re subconsciously putting out there. If you want to raise the vibration of particular energy research or ask your guides to find the crystal you need to raise that vibration. Crystals can help you stay connected to your intentions. To learn more about the topic of writing with crystals check out our post: Writing Using Crystals.

Below are the crystals I put together that I often work with when I journal, they are great for journaling with:

  • Blue Kyanite is especially useful for working with the Throat Chakra and communication issues. Blue Kyanite helps to speak one’s truth with clarity, making it an excellent stone for sharing ones wisdom effectively – whether spoken or written. In the case of writing, Blue Kyanite is particularly suitable for getting the point across. Bluestones are linked with the blue Throat Chakra, which governs communication in all forms.
  • Lapis Lazuli aids in stimulating wisdom and good judgment in the practical world. Lapis Lazuli aids intellectual analysis, problem-solving and creates new ideas. It is excellent for enhancing memory. A stone of truth, Lapis Lazuli encourages honesty of the spirit, and in the spoken and written word. Wear it for all forms of deep communication. If you are looking for new ideas for your writing, this is the stone for you. Some writing blocks are more robust to crack than others, with Lapis Lazuli there is no writing challenge you cannot overcome.
  • Jaspers are the nurturers, the healers and the spirit stones of courage and wisdom. They all carry a strong connection to the Earth’s energy, making the jasper healing properties very beneficial for grounding, stability, and strength. It is one of those stones that comes in a variety of colors and types. Different types of jasper stones have different properties, but in general, it is a stone that calms nerves. Great for the emotional writer, it can help focus feelings, so your writing is balanced between coherent and passionate.
  • Amethyst is excellent for both opening and clearing the mind. In creativity and writing, it helps invite inspiration. Amethyst is a highly intuitive stone. This essentially means that it can help you learn how to trust your gut. Put it this way, have you ever written a page only to erase it, rewrite it, delete it again and then decide the first prose you wrote was the best? -Amethyst helps you trust yourself.
  • Clear Quartz can be useful for writers (especially if the writer needs to cleanse the space and/or clear the mind). Never underestimate the power of Clear Quartz! This crystal will bring you mental clarity, greater focus and help you retain information. Try a Quartz Crystal Sphere on your desk area. I also highly recommend a small raw or polished Clear Quartz Crystal Point for study purposes. You can wear it around your neck or carry it with you in your pocket.

Tip: Keep the same Quartz Crystal Point with you as you study. Then have it with you when you take exams or need to access the information.

  • Carnelian is a stabilizing crystal, perfect for anchoring in the present. Get riled up with Carnelian, one of the best crystals for confidence, to elevate your creativity and make your message more memorable. Carnelian clarifies the voice, and it is an excellent stone for speakers, singers, writers, and teachers. Carnelian also helps release stress and trauma, so it is good for the writer’s block. Not only does is give you an immense boost of creative energy but it’s also soothing, so you won’t get anxiety while looking at your low word count.
  • Carnelian can be a powerful imagination and creativity booster, which is great for breaking a creative block. In writing, it can help with your original decision making by inspiring perception and confidence. Writers are blessed and cursed with an overactive mind, and this can be overwhelming and undermine the writing process. Carnelian charges other crystals.

How To Cleanse Crystals | Spiral Crystas UK

Published

on

After buying new crystals it’s always a good idea to give them a cleanse and to charge them with your intentions.
It’s good to do this regularly as they can easily pick up negative energy, especially after you have been working with them.
It should be easy to tell when they need a cleanse as they will feel duller and the energy might feel a bit off. After they have been cleansed you will notice that they seem clearer and more sparkly.
There are many different ways to cleanse your crystals and its up to you whether you just use one way or a combination of different ways.

Water

Water is a powerful energetic cleanser. As it is easy to program, we can set an intention for it to cleanse the crystal so that it will absorb negative energy and remove it. Although its best to do this with running natural water such as a river or stream, you can also just use a tap water. There is no set amount of time to do this for, just whatever feels right for you although roughly 30 seconds – 1 minute should be long enough.
You should only cleanse crystals in water that are 6 or above on the Moh’s hardness scale (although there are a few exceptions to this) as some crystals may lose their shine or even dissolve completely. Also they are some crystals which can release toxins in water such as malachite (copper) or cinnabar (mercury) so its good to do some research on this before cleansing crystals in nature. If you are unsure you can just use a different cleansing method.

Crystals That Can Be Cleansed In Water

Clear Quartz
Rose Quartz
Smoky Quartz
Amethyst
Citrine
Tigers Eye
Aventurine
Shungite

Crystals That Can’t Be Cleansed In Water

Selenite
Fluorite
Lepidolite
Malachite
Pyrite
Magnetite
Apophylite

Incense

Smudge sticks such as white sage or palo santo work well for this. You just light the smudge stick and pass the crystals over the smoke for around 30 seconds while setting an intention to remove negative energy and cleanse the crystal. This can be done with any crystal although I find that its best to use this in combination with another method such as placing them on the grass in the sunlight for a few hours.

Singing Bowls

Sound breaks up any stuck energy and restores energy which may be vibrating out of tune. This method can be used with any crystal and can be an effective way of cleansing a large number of crystals at the same time.

Bury Crystals In The Garden

This reconnects them with the Earth which will draw out any negative energies present in the crystal.
Its best to leave them there for at least a day or longer. Crystals such as hematite or pyrite should not be cleansed this way as they can rust.

Full moon

The full moon marks the end of a lunar cycle and is the time when energies are at a peak. It has a powerful purifying effect and is a time of releasing and letting go of energies that don’t serve you.
This makes it a perfect time for cleansing and purifying your crystals. You can do this with any crystal, just leave them out overnight or if you are worried that it might rain you can put them on your window sill.

Visualisation

You can just imagine a white light going around the crystal and up to the sky with the intention that you are purifying the energy of the crystal and releasing any negative energy. This can be done with any crystal for as long as you feel is needed.

Sun Light

Sun light also has a purifying effect and placing crystals out in the sun for around 4 hours will burn off any negative energy.
Some crystals such as amethyst and fluorite can fade in the sun so it might be better to use one of the other methods for cleansing them.

Selenite Charging Plate/ Bowl

Some crystals such as selenite have such a high vibration that they never need to be cleansed and have a cleansing effect on others. You can put any crystal on the plate or in the bowl for around 8 hours to remove negativity and charge it up with positive energy.

How To Charge/ Activate Crystals

After the crystal has been cleansed, you can charge it with an intention to give it a focus and direct the energy.
Once you have decided what your intention is eg to protect you, you can say to yourself “ I program this crystal to be used for the highest good, to protect me from any negativity” and imagine your intention inside the crystal. You could also place the crystal in a grid for your specific intention or place a piece of paper with the intention written on it underneath the crystal.

What is a Devic Temple Crystal?

Published

on

Today I wanted to talk about a type of quartz called a Devic Temple. What are they? What is the description of a Devic Temple? How do you know if your crystal is a Devic Temple?

devic temple

FIRST, WHAT IS A DEVIC TEMPLE?

Let’s start with the description. Crystals which have Fairy Frost, Mirror Fractures and Rainbows inside are called (by some*) Devic Temple crystals.

Devic Temple crystals are described as having “special places for Light Beings to reside”.

I feel all crystals have this ability/inclination so I tend to shy away from this term. The term Devic Temple, then, is a little bit misleading. This implies that only the crystals labeled as Devic Temple have the ability to harbor or house Light Beings. It is included here as a separate blog post because it is a popular search term and you might be looking for more information on this type of crystal.

According to some, Devic Temple crystals are considered to be “Master Crystals”. However, to me, the term Master Crystal is arbitrary and subject to interpretation.  The Crystal People are ALL masters. Also, the list of Master crystals varies fairly widely according to which author you read. Therefore I am not a big fan of lumping the crystals onto a “Master Crystal” list. That being said, I will address Master Crystals in more detail in another blog post and we’ll get back to Devic Temple crystals.

WHAT DOES A DEVIC TEMPLE LOOK LIKE?

DEVIC TEMPLEVery often, the crystals I see online described as Devic Temple have tons of Mirror Fractures caused by stress, called “crazing”.

Crazing is when lots of Mirror Fractures are created when the crystal undergoes a shock such as a sudden temperature change. A hot crystal into cold water or cold crystal into hot water, for example. These Mirror Fractures tend to go completely through the crystal. They traverse side to side and cause the structure of the crystal to be prone to breaking more easily.

The crystals which I tend to call Devic Temple often have less Mirror Fractures than the other examples you might find online. The Mirror Fractures often take shapes and tend to be more internalized (less to the far outer surface of the crystal).

There is also a lot of ethereal looking Fairy Frost and Rainbows added into the mix.

DEVIC TEMPLE: REMINDER ON WHAT FAIRY FROST IS

FAIRY FROST devic templeInitially the term Fairy Frost might make you think of something on the outer surface of a crystal (frost on the pumpkin, frost on the ground), however it isn’t.

Fairy Frost occurs only inside the crystal. Crystals with Fairy Frost have fractures and inclusions of air within them. The trapped air is wispy, white and fairy-looking.

Some are more fairy-like than others. If it helps you to visualize, I would compare Fairy Frost more to our working definition of “fog” than “frost”.

Many crystals have Fairy Frost, in fact more of them have it than don’t have it.

A crystal without any Fairy Frost at all, with no fractures or inclusions inside, is called optically clear or water clear.

Crystals with Fairy Frost are sometimes called “Devic”, because they can connect us to Nature Spirits or Deva. Because of this description, I can understand how some crystals with Fairy Frost came to be called Devic Temple crystals. But why not all? My take on this coming up.

DEVIC TEMPLE: REMINDER ON WHAT MIRROR FRACTURES ARE

DEVIC TEMPLE rainbows and mirror fracturesVery often, along with the Fairy Frost there are internal fractures called Mirror Fractures. They are shiny and silvery and look like mirrors inside the crystal. They often have Rainbows on them.

Very often you will see shapes and images in crystals that others don’t.

This doesn’t mean the shape is only in your imagination (isn’t real), oftentimes crystals will show something to a person that is a special message for them.

Mirror Fractures may often present in shapes. Fairies, women, faces, mountains etc (pictures below).

MY GUESS ON HOW THESE CRYSTALS BECAME KNOWN AS “DEVIC TEMPLE”

DEVIC TEMPLE alien mirror fractureMy guess is that the term Devic Temple came into being when people saw crystals with lots of the wispy Fairy Frost inside.

Next add the magic of Mirror Fractures (which can look like little shelves or seats, and even figures and people).

Finally, the Rainbows added a special glimmer and magic to the whole mix, voila, Devic Temple!

Now, don’t get me wrong here, I am not implying that the crystals DON’T have Fairies, Deva and Angels within. I am just suggesting that these crystals termed Devic Temple aren’t the ONLY crystals which have this special feature.

NOTE FROM CRYSTAL GUIDE, VENUS

Venus had this to add about why she thinks these particular crystals came to be called Devic Temple:

On the subject of Devic Temple crystals, or crystals given that name: we see ALL naming of crystals as a human construct. We are ALL able to house Deva, and do that which the ‘other’ has been touted as being Masters of.

The naming does help to give humans a jumping off point. This is both due to the visual nature of the crystal and the human need for tangible prompts to help to experience non-visual phenomena.

To explain, when a person sees a crystal with what appears to be shelves or seats, they can more easily imagine a Light Being sitting there.

The “Devic Temple” crystals tend to have more intricate insides and interesting shapes to follow with your imagination, which gets you out of your mental, looking-for-proof minds. In this way, it is easier to experience the actual feeling of that Light Being. The Being, more accurately, can be called upon to visit through the crystalline structure.

The same is true with crystals with certain shapes on the insides (the “Fairies”, “Angels”, “faces” and “shapes” one might identify). The being itself might have altered the internal look of the crystal to give the person a clue that they are available to interact.

To further clarify what Venus said so eloquently above, I see the shapes of Beings not as a Being “trapped” inside the crystal, but more of a “calling card” to connect to the Being through the crystal. I think it is part of why I shy away from the term Devic Temple in general. In the description of a Devic Temple, the implication is that the Light Being resides inside the crystal or is trapped there. I don’t see it this way at all.

Not to forget, there is also the consciousness of the Crystal Being itself that is present (accessible) in every crystal. More on crystalline consciousness here – (talking about crystal names and descriptions) and here – (talking about “Spirit Beings” in crystal).

HOW TO WORK WITH A DEVIC TEMPLE CRYSTAL

Depending on the crystal, and whether the Fairy Frost or Mirror Fractures represent something to us (Mountain or Earth Spirits, Fairies, Angels, Sprites, etc) we may work with that particular energy.

The wispy Frost and Mirror Fractures inside crystal is also something that draws us in, causes us to look for shapes and messages, scenes and landscapes. It’s like a world inside a world. A natural snow globe.

In this way, crystals with Fairy Frost (which admittedly is the majority of crystals) will connect us with nature, as it sometimes appears like fog we see outside, and with Fairies (etc), as it sometimes takes the shape of them.

AWESOME DEVIC TEMPLE PICTURES TO ENJOY

Take a look at these crystal photos from my archives. I have outlined or zoomed in on a few of the things I saw in the crystal. If you take a look, it is very likely that you may see even more.

DEVIC TEMPLE angel or fairy mirror fracture

Angel or Fairy, her legs look almost crossed, head resting on one knee, hands in her lap, maybe holding something. Does she have a reindeer horn? Is she sitting under mistletoe!? If you look at the zoom in without the outline, she looks much more serene than my scribbled drawing, which was done with a mouse, so it’s not so great). The outline should just give you an area in which to focus to see the being (as is true with the following pictures as well).

Also, don’t let my outlining distract you from other Beings you might see in the same picture. Just because I didn’t outline it, doesn’t mean it is not there.

devic temple mountain mirror fracture

A beautiful grouping of Mirror Fractures which look just like a mountain range to me. This is an example of a Sigil. Sigils are usually described as occurring on the outside surface of a crystal, but the definition of a Sigil is applicable to scenes and messages appearing inside the crystal as well.

DEVIC TEMPLE mirror fracture

This little grouping of Mirror Fractures looks like a lot of different things to me. I initially outlined it just as an example of what a Mirror Fracture is, I wasn’t outlining a particular shape (though I see a few now). Take a look and maybe you will see a story play out.

DEVIC TEMPLE mirror fractures

In this little wisp of a Mirror Fracture, I see much more than what I initially outlined. Again, I was just outlining the Mirror Fracture (not a particular shape or Being). However, I see arms and hands on this little Mirror Fracture, my arrow in the photo would be pointing at it’s rear. I see it is maybe holding a cat (with glowing eyes). The Being appears to be curled over the kitty and the Being is looking down at it lovingly. The kitty looks at us.

DEVIC TEMPLE sprite or fairy mirror fracture

This guy needs no commentary (but look, I gave you some anyway!). Look at his hair! Again, the outlining doesn’t accurately outline the expression on his face, just gives you an area in which to look. Looking at the photo without the outline, you can see some real mischievous emotion in that little Being. One eyebrow is raised and the other down low over the other eye. It is why I say maybe a Sprite. Impish, playful and old. It is not surprising to me that I drew the outline to look like Kilroy, as he appears to be peeking out from behind a wall of sorts. Brilliant!

IN SUMMARY

Ok! That is all the pictures I have for right now. Thanks for taking this journey with me, discussing Devic Temple crystals.

Remember that all crystals have the ability ascribed to Devic Temple crystals. Sometimes you will see a shape or Being in a photograph but are unable to find the same Being in the physical crystal once you get it home. This is not unusual at all.

If you feel so led, I would continue to connect with the Being in the crystal (knowing it was in the photo) even if you can’t “find” it in the physical crystal. If you recall, seeing the Being in the photo is just a calling card that the Being is available for contact, not necessarily the Being itself.

Perhaps this will inspire you to look more deeply into the crystals which live with you (whether labelled Devic Temple or not) to see if there is a calling card from a Being who might like to connect with you!
